Global Warming Realities

"According to a new U.N. report, the global warming outlook is much worse than originally predicted. Which is pretty bad when they originally predicted it would destroy the planet." --Jay Leno"

"Al Gore announced he is finishing up a new book about global warming and the environment. Yeah, the first chapter talks about how you shouldn't chop down trees to make a book that no one will read." --Conan O'Brien

OBAMA HATES WHITE PEOPLE AND WANTS THEM TO DIE!

Obama hates white people and wants them to die
Rick Moran
With nearly 1.5 million people in the mid-west without power during a cold snap, what other possible reason is there that this new "competent" administration and FEMA would be failing so spectacularly in helping in this natural disaster?

IT'S GOT TO BE THAT OBAMA HATES WHITE PEOPLE AND WANTS THEM TO DIE!

Of course, I am just aping what lefty blogs were saying about Bush less than 24 hours after Katrina's hurricane winds stopped blowing. But AP is reporting that Midwest disaster relief people are none too pleased with our new president's FEMA.
In Kentucky's Grayson County, there are 25 National Guardsmen there to help - but no chain saws to cut away fallen limbs and trees. EM Director Randell Smith is quoted as saying, "We've got people out in some areas we haven't even visited yet," Smith said. "We don't even know that they're alive."
Smith is also quoted as saying that FEMA is a "no show."
What's that? Here we are 5 days after the storm ended and STILL NO FEMA? I demand a Congressional investigation. And let's get all the anchors and media people down here pronto. People's lives are at stake. For all we know, there are babies being eaten and people jumping off their roofs committing suicide because FEMA is nowhere to be found.
And where is our president? Shouldn't he be visiting these ravaged areas? It must be that he HATES WHITE PEOPLE AND WANTS THEM TO DIE. That is the only possible explanation for this incredible failure of our national government to relieve the suffering of these people.
Isn't it interesting that now that we have a Democrat as president that all of a sudden, disaster relief is a state and local matter and the federal government should stand aside and allow them to do their jobs?
Just wondering...

Nice! Michael Steele becomes RNC Chairman

Michael Steele(y) I hope anyway, Steeley that is.

the "Worst Bill In Galactic History"

The economy is in recession. There's no end in sight. The number of unemployed continues to rise. Equities markets are in the dumps. The real estate sector hasn't hit bottom. The banks are drowning in a sludge of toxic assets. Excuse us while we break out the Prozac.

Washington's response? Pathetic. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi let her appropriators out of their cages and had them draft the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. This is the economic stimulus package that everyone has been waiting for. And it's a clunker. The more you learn about the economic stimulus plan, the less you like it. Charles Krauthammer called it the "worst bill in galactic history." This is only a slight exaggeration.

Can you belive this from Peggy Noonan?

Consider the moment. House Republicans had conceded that dramatic action was needed and had grown utterly supportive of the idea of federal jobs creation on a large scale. All that was needed was a sober, seriously focused piece of legislation that honestly tried to meet the need, one that everyone could tinker with a little and claim as their own. Instead, as Rep. Mike Pence is reported to have said to the president, "Know that we're praying for you. . . . But know that there has been no negotiation [with Republicans] on the bill—we had absolutely no say." The final bill was privately agreed by most and publicly conceded by many to be a big, messy, largely off-point and philosophically chaotic piece of legislation
.
. blah blah blah
.
But you don't have to be on Wall Street to have Goldmansachs Head. Congress has it too. That's what the stimulus bill was about—not knowing what time it is, not knowing the old pork-barrel, group-greasing ways are over, done, embarrassing. When you create a bill like that, it doesn't mean you're a pro, it doesn't mean you're a tough, no-nonsense pol. It means you're a slob.

That's how the Democratic establishment in the House looks, not like people who are responding to a crisis, or even like people who are ignoring a crisis, but people who are using a crisis. Our hopeful, compelling new president shouldn't have gone with this bill. He made news this week by going to the House to meet with Republicans. He could have made history by listening to them.

"With all due respect Mr. President, that is not true."

January 30, 2009
The Return of One-Party Rule
By David Harsanyi
Imagine that. The most expensive social experiment in American history -- one that will cost taxpayers more than both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars combined -- was allotted less then a single day of debate in Congress.
How many speed-reading whiz kid representatives do you think slogged past their own pork to read the entire 647, or so, pages of the "stimulus" menu?
This week, more than 200 notable economists -- including three Nobel laureates -- signed an open letter in The New York Times challenging Barack Obama's false suggestion that all economists agree a bailout is needed. It was entitled "With all due respect Mr. President, that is not true."
So though Nobel laureates can't reach anything resembling a consensus, your former community-organizing/car-dealing/ambulance-chasing congressman has the intellectual capacity to digest a $900 billion piece of legislation in mere days. Amazing.

Promises,,, Shmomises... Promises are not exactly meant to be kept

That could very well be BO's mantra.

Another lobbist on the payroll: Daschle chief of staff was lobbyist.

The new chief of staff to health reform czar Tom Daschle was a lobbyist through late last year and will have to recuse himself from issues he worked to influence, an administration aide said Thursday.

AND .....

Obama finds room for lobbyists

President Obama promised during his campaign that lobbyists "won't find a job in my White House." So far, though, at least a dozen former lobbyists have found top jobs in his administration, according to an analysis done by Republican sources and corroborated by Politico. Obama aides did not challenge the the list of lobbyists appointed to administration jobs, but they stressed that former lobbyists comprise a fraction of the more than 8,000 employees who will be hired by the new administration. And they pointed out that before Obama made his campaign-trail promise, he issued a more complete - and more nuanced - policy on former lobbyists.

I like that ... a more 'nuanced' policy. Ahem -- he LIED!

Climate Elitist

Did you notice the term 'Climate Elitist' in the post below?

Kind of rings true doesn't it? Preach on the evils of Global Warming (or Climate Change, now that the evidence shows that the Earth is actually cooling, but who looks at evidence anyway) while flying all over the world to tell the story (but airplanes don't burn fossil fuel, correct?). Chauffeured from the airport to congress in the big black SUV, and escorted by private plane home to your 10,000 sq ft home (which I'm sure is set at 62 degrees). But I'm sure there is a Prius somewhere in the garage, just for appearances sake. Like I say, LOTS of money to be made preaching the gospel of Global Warming.

More Liberal Hypocrisy

January 29, 2009
Obama: Heat as I say, Not as I Do
Marc Sheppard
A piece in yesterday's New York Times featured a photo of an Oval Office meeting last week during which President Obama had removed his suit jacket. And while the Times was quick to point out how this break with centuries old tradition was a sign of a "more informal culture" under this new administration, they neglected to mention the glaring hypocrisy of the action.
You see, the reason the president --- and others -- were jacketless was simple: "Mr. Obama, who hates the cold, had cranked up the thermostat." After all, it's freezing cold out there, and as White House senior advisor David Axelrod reminded us, "He's from Hawaii, O.K," adding that "He likes it warm. You could grow orchids in there." But the limousine liberal elitism didn't get past Steve Milloy at JunkScience.com, who wrote this morning: Could this be the same Barack Obama who said last May that: "We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times... and then just expect that other countries are going to say 'OK.' ... That's not leadership. That's not going to happen." And could this be the same Barack Obama who is looking to sign a stimulus bill that would spend billions of dollars installing millions "smart meters" that would enable your power company to prevent you from being as comfortable as he is on hot and cold days? While President Bambi is warm-and-toasty in the Oval Office, is he considering the plight of Michigan's Marvin Schur, a 93-year World War II veteran, who was recently found frozen to death courtesy of a malfunctioning electricity "limiter" device installed by his power company? Granted, neither Obama's elitism nor the media's complicit actions are fresh concepts. Remember how hard they worked to dispel the image of a condescending elitist last April when then candidate Obama was caught on tape talking about bitter country folks and how "they cling to guns or religion?" But now that he's joined the growing list of do as I say not as I do climate elitists, will they continue to provide cover as he signs energy legislation demanding the sacrifice of personal comfort by struggling Americans? Particularly while seated in the luxurious tropical temperatures of the Oval Office? Any guesses?

The Goracle Speaks!

The Goracle's powers seem to come from his ability to scare the bejesus out of people. "We must face up to this urgent and unprecedented threat to the existence of our civilization," he said. And: "This is the most serious challenge the world has ever faced." And: It "could completely end human civilization, and it is rushing at us with such speed and force."

Own it. Embrace it. Swallow it. The House version of the $1.1 trillion Generational Theft Act of 2009 is all the Democrats’ doing now.
Not one Republican voted for it. (1 Republican had to leave early).
177 Republicans and 11 Democrats opposed.
No bending over today.
Finally. A party of opposition worth its name.
And now… on to the squishes in the Senate.
Savor this while you can.
Kudos to the GOP leadership for showing some spine. More, please.
Mega-kudos to the conservative staffers on the Hill behind the scenes standing up for what’s right and providing intellectual and informational ammunition to the grass-roots.
And bailout-sized kudos to each and every one of you who made your voice heard.
Gird your loins. We’ve only just begun.

Are you ready to serve the government?

America's New Indentured Servanthood
Lee Cary
With today's likely vote in the House of Representatives for an $825 billion economic stimulus bill, the peoples' house will take a long stride toward the new era of our collective indentured servanthood to the master that is the Federal Debt. Whatever dams once held back the deficit spending are crumbling, and there will be no spending cutbacks next year from Obama and the Democrat Congress.
We will become a nation of indentured servants. All of it masked in claims of classlessness.

HEY! Anybody home?

"Lillian, you should have stayed a virgin." --Lillian Carter

Obama's interview on Al-Arabiya Network

Is he going to tolerate a nuclear Iran? He didnt answer the question. More Obama-speak.

"Will the United States ever live with a nuclear Iran? And if not, how far are you going in the direction of preventing it?" asked the interviewer, Al Arabiya Washington Bureau Chief Hisham Melhem.

Obama responded only generally, expressing disapproval of an Iranian bomb but not the flat condemnation that is standard from American officials.
"You know, I said during the campaign that it is very important for us to make sure that we are using all the tools of U.S. power, including diplomacy, in our relationship with Iran," he said. "Now, the Iranian people are a great people, and Persian civilization is a great civilization. Iran has acted in ways that's not conducive to peace and prosperity in the region: their threats against Israel; their pursuit of a nuclear weapon which could potentially set off an arms race in the region that would make everybody less safe; their support of terrorist organizations in the past -- none of these things have been helpful."

none of these things have been helpful .. Really? I guess this is diplomacy at work. Again, is Obama going to tolerate a nuclear Iran?

$53 TRILLION Shortfall?

"Americans face a ‘looming entitlement crisis’ in which every American household already shares nearly $500,000 in debt, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said Friday at the National Press Club.
The General Accounting Office of the federal government estimates that, in total, the federal government currently faces a $53 trillion shortfall to cover the projected costs of promised entitlement benefits, such as Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and other programs."

I hope you don't have any money in the bank or assets, because they will be going to the government to cover this $53 trillion shortfall. Guaranteed.

Fairy Tales are Childish Things

A million watt smile, fashionable sunglasses, and a nice jump shot are fine – I wish I possessed each of them – but one can confidently assume that Kim Jong Il, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Ayman al-Zawahiri, Hassan Nasrallah, and Hugo Chavez are immune to their charms. Inflation, deflation, and unemployment will not be determined by the eloquence of Obama’s rhetoric, the dinners he attends, or the columnists and reporters he seduces.
Barack Obama is President of the United States, not a crown prince on a white horse. Fairy tales are fine; but fairy tales are childish things.

Are You Kidding Me?

What happened to the most ethical, transparent administration?

A Treasury Secretary, Geithner, that cant even pay his taxes? What do you think would happen if that was one of us? 34K in unpaid taxes? Oh Puleeze.

Didnt BO promise not to have any lobbyists in his admin?

Having announced new ethics rules banning lobbyists serving in his administration, the president was immediately forced to make an exception for his deputy defence secretary William Lynn, who has lobbied for the defence industry giant Raytheon.

BO can't even answer questions in his own press conferences.

The president has also reacted badly to his first taste of tougher questioning from the previously supine Washington press corps - becoming visibly irritated, during a visit to journalists' offices in the White House, when asked a substantive question about the ethics affair.

Why am I as an American taxpayer paying for abortions in Africa?

But despite his efforts, the reaction was brutal. Family groups accused him of plotting the "infanticide" of African children.

Gitmo. So tell me, BO what are you going to do with these terrorists? If one of these 'people' comes back and kills Americans. Good luck to you Mr. President.

Welcome to the NFL. It all sounded so easy on the campaign trail, didn't it.

My big fat patriotic promise

For eight years, many people insisted that they'd lost their country. They detested Bush, hated his politics and condemned his choices when they disagreed. Loudly.

Good for them. Now, it's my turn. God bless America.

Just lie to me. Dont tell me what you need to do... Ah, now I feel better about America

Most politicians would rather do anything than make a difficult choice, and it seems President Obama hasn't abandoned this Senatorial habit. To wit, yesterday's executive order on interrogation: It imposes broad limits on how aggressively U.S. intelligence officers can question terrorists, but it also keeps open the prospect of legal loopholes that would allow them to press harder in tough cases.

Ayers denied entry to Canada -- even Canada doesn't want him

If even Canada thinks he's a terrorist, why does Barack pal around with him?

Bush Legacy Is Hidden Here in Plain Site

I wish the looney left would actually read something once in awhile (and not just the Huffington Post or Moveon.org) and not just get their opinions from The Daily Show or David Letterman. But, alas, I think that is too much to ask.

Obama's Responsibility

George Bush has set a standard for Obama in at least one sense -- no terrorist attacks on U.S. soil since 9/11. Obama now promises to change course out of concern that those with knowledge regarding plans to murder Americans, or who have attacked America outside the bounds of warfare, not be treated too harshly. But if terrorism returns to our land on his watch, then Obama and his liberal Democrats will be held responsible, you betcha, as Americans ask what happened to the government that works. Obama should recall that when General Washington's forces captured British Major John Andre spying behind their lines out of uniform, Washington accorded him the dignity of a swift military trial and execution by firing squad.

Obama also promised yesterday, "We will harness the sun and the winds and the soil to fuel our cars and run our factories." That is a nice dreamy vision, but if we neglect production of what we know works to power our economy -- oil, and gas, and coal, and nuclear power -- and we end up with blackouts and gas rationing because the sun and the winds and the soil didn't really come through, then Obama will be held responsible, as America again asks what happened to the government that works.

Liberal Turds: Classless to the Last

Obama's intent to remake American politics got a jolt of reality yesterday when thousands of his supporters booed and mocked George Bush as he stepped on to the platform:
The crowd packed on the west side of the Capitol grounds serenaded President Bush in mocking fashion when he took to the inaugural stage alongside Vice President Dick Cheney.
"Nah nah nah nah, hey hey, good-bye," a section of the crowd chanted.
The crowd packed immediately below the podium received Bush in stony silence when he took his seat on the stage surrounding the podium where Barack Obama was scheduled to take the oath office to become the 44th president of the United States.
The jeers are among the final public feedback Bush will receive as president.
